Day 39: It’s easy to miss it

November 22, 2023

It’s been a hectic day!

Back to back meetings, reading and researching to uncover leadership trends to help me write the script for a training video on the Top 5 Skills needed for Leadership in 2024, a hospital appointment and a to-do list as long as my arm.

I’m writing this in my kitchen while I cook dinner and then I’ll be taking my kids to football practice. Luckily they both practice in roughly the same place at the same time so that’s one less complication to manage.

I share this because today has been one of those days where I’ve barely looked up.

This is a day that could easily pass unnoticed, the kind of day we all live so often; the kind of day that makes us look up in November and exclaim, “I can’t believe it’s November! Can you believe it’s November?!” (Thanks Michael McIntyre!)

Without the blog, the only thing I would take from today is that I dropped the slow cooker lid on my ankle and have a massive blood blister-slash-bruise-thing on the bone that hurts like hell.

I would forget that I was interviewed on a podcast to talk about behaviour change. I’d forget that I got another “all clear” from another doctor, and I’d forget to notice that pretty much everything in life went according to plan today (slow cooker lid being the only exception).

So, thanks to this moment of reflection, I’m taking the chance to think about the day I’ve lived so far and all the wonderful little moments it held within it.

How was your day?
